Men's 2016 Summer Mountain Retreat

July 22, 2016 to July 23, 2016

7:00pm – 4:00pm

Category: Men's Ministry

This year’s Men's Ministry Summer Mountain Retreat on Friday, July 22nd (beginning with dinner at 7pm) to Saturday, July 23rd (ending after lunch).

The teaching and discussion during the retreat will be led by Pastor Joey of Calvary Chapel, Cambridge UK, on the topic of Aiming high: grasping holiness. This will be Bible-grounded teaching, as well as practical, personal application. Those of us who have experienced Pastor Joey’s teaching in the past years will know how relevant and helpful, life-changing the teaching tends to be! The MM Summer Mountain Retreat is aimed at those who cannot get away during the summer time and are keen to have a time of activity, fellowship & friendship in a great mountain setting. The group is usually small, and therefore great for friendships and in depth conversations. Dads are welcome to bring sons if they can be part of the teaching sessions, and friends are welcome too.

We have been able to secure a scenic new mountain venue, Hotel Hornfluh near Gstaad, actually above Saanenmoeser, in the charming and peaceful landscape of the Bernese Mountains. The costs for accommodation and half-board vary between 120 – 160 Swiss francs, depending on whether you prefer a single or double (sharing) room. Lunch is a la carte, i.e. everyone orders and pays for themselves.

You can drive directly to the hotel (approx. 1 1/4h drive to Saanenmoeser, then follow signs to Hornberg and then a 25 minute drive from Sannenmoeser up to hotel). You could also park in Saanenmoeser at the bottom of the Hornberg  and take the Saanersloch-Cable car, change at the halfway station to the Hornberg chairlift and then walk 5 minutes to the hotel (Note: the last ride 4.30pm!).

If you can leave work early and like sports: hike (around 2.5 hours) or mountain bike (around 1 hour) up the mountain from Saanenmoeser.

It would be great if you could join us! Contact Clive for registration and questions.
